Expo 2025 in Osaka is more than just a global tech showcase its a celebration of cutting-edge design concepts that center around immersive experiences, storytelling, and sustainability.

The Smile Exhibit team visited the expo through the lens of both designers and booth builders, exploring how we could translate these world-class ideas into real, tangible projects here in Thailand. Here are some highlights were excited to share with you.

1. Spain Pavilion An Immersive Experience You Can Truly Feel

A pavilion where every design element works in harmony, the Spain Pavilion offers a seamless journey that feels like you're diving into the story of Spain with every step you take. The visitor flow is carefully choreographed to follow a narrative from Spains connection with Japan, to themes of water and technology culminating in a surprising shift in atmosphere. Its an immersive experience that goes beyond visual spectacle, inviting you to feel the essence of Spain.

It reminds us of how booth design can integrate light and sound in a way that creates rhythm and makes the experience truly memorable all without requiring an out-of-reach budget.

2. France Pavilion The Storytelling Beauty of Nature

France welcomes visitors into a warm, inviting pavilion filled with the rich textures of natural materials fabric, wood, and stone thoughtfully arranged like a contemporary craft exhibition. Beyond showcasing Frances love for beauty, fashion, and luxury, what stood out was the seamless blend of diverse materials. The layered fabric facade, softly lit to create depth and contrast at night, felt both minimal and powerful.

Were currently exploring booth designs using tensioned fabric structures paired with adaptable lighting to bring a more atmospheric, living quality to exhibitions in Thailand.

3. Portugal Pavilion A Modular Booth That Saves Resources and Time

Portugals booth stands out for its simple yet smart design, using a structure made from suspended ropes and recycled fishing nets that mimic the movement of ocean waves. Its quick to install, easy to dismantle, yet visually striking and effectively communicates a clear message of sustainability from the inside out.

4. Saudi Arabia Pavilion Creating Cinematic Moments in a Compact Space

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion takes a unique spatial approach, guiding visitors through an outdoor journey that echoes the experience of exploring traditional Saudi cities and villages. A series of angular buildings are connected by walkways that feel like village streets, creating an atmosphere thats both accessible and deeply rooted in Saudi identity simple, yet powerful.

It inspired us to explore the idea of creating a cinematic flow for product launches or premium brand showcases, where the booth experience unfolds like a well-crafted commercial.

5. Uzbekistan Pavilion Blending Traditional Patterns with Modern Lighting

The pavilion is rich with inspiration from traditional textiles and local patterns, brought to life through dynamic projections and lighting. It creates a fresh dimension of contemporary culture by using structural elements to cast traditional patterns in light and shadow. This approach modernizes the culture without losing its authentic essence.

6. Earthmart A Pavilion for the New Era, Caring Every Step from Start to Finish

An experimental pavilion by Kengo Kuma that pushes the boundaries of booth design with the concept of no waste. Every material used must be either reusable or biodegradable, reflecting Japanese culture through its distinctive roofing materials.

This truly inspired us to seriously consider creating booths that minimize waste by reusing leftover materialsdesigns that are both sustainable and beautifully crafted without generating trash.

Global concepts that can truly be adapted in Thailand - Osaka Expo 2025 showed us that a booth is no longer just a temporary structure its a stage for storytelling, creating experiences, and delivering meaningful value like never before. It also deepened our understanding of the growing importance of genuine sustainability.
